First Commandment

• Have I frequently omitted my daily prayers out of negligence?
• Have I voluntarily been distracted during my prayers?
• Have I deliberately consented to doubts against the Faith?
• Have I deliberately avoided listening to the Word of God?
• Have I kept or read books hostile to religion?
• Have I spoken against religion or failed to defend it when it was my duty?
• Have I criticized people or ecclesiastical practices?
• Have I allowed others to criticize the Church in my presence?
• Have I allowed myself to become discouraged, murmuring against God?
• Have I followed superstitious practices out of conviction or carelessness?
• Have I participated in spiritist meetings?
• Have I requested or used remedies advised by spiritists?

Second Commandment

• Did I pronounce, out of anger or recklessness, the name of God or the Saints?
• Do I have the habit of uttering holy names without a just reason?
• Did I swear falsely?
• Did I swear unnecessarily?
• Did I curse or call down imprecations against someone, abusing the names of God or the Saints?
• Did I engage in injurious conversations about God, the Saints, or sacred things (blasphemies)?

Third Commandment

• Did I miss Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation? Why?
• Did I arrive late to Mass or leave before it was over due to my fault?
• Did I attend Mass without attention?
• Did I behave poorly in church?
• Did I work on Sundays and holy days without necessity?
• Did I force others to work on holy days?

Fourth Commandment

• Did I fail to respect my parents or superiors?
• Did I mistreat my parents through words or actions?
• Did I wish harm upon my parents?
• Did I speak poorly of my parents?
• Did I deliberately cause sadness or offend my parents?
• Did I fail to obey in serious matters?
• Did I commit acts of unkindness towards siblings or relatives?

Fifth Commandment

• Did I injure my neighbor?
• Did I get angry at someone?
• Did I intentionally offend someone?
• Did I seek quarrels with others?
• Did I harbor hatred towards someone?
• Did I nurture feelings of resentment or ill will towards someone?
• Did I wish harm upon someone?
• Did I harm my neighbor intentionally, affecting their health?
• Did I wish death upon someone?
• Did I wish death upon myself?
• Did I harm my own health intentionally out of discouragement, a desire to die, or stubbornness?
• Did I neglect necessary care for the sick?
• Did I mistreat animals for enjoyment, not necessity?
• Did I scandalize my neighbor or cause them to sin?
• Did I commit excesses in food and drink?
• Do I have the habit of getting drunk?

Sixth and Ninth Commandments

• Have I voluntarily lingered on impure thoughts and imaginations?
• Have I desired to see or do dishonest things?
• Have I engaged in obscene conversations?
• Have I listened to obscene conversations with pleasure?
• Have I sung or listened to sensual songs?
• Have I taught impure practices to others?
• Have I read impure books or writings?
• Have I looked at dishonest things with bad intention or out of curiosity?
• Have I participated in activities dangerous to purity, like dances, movies, TV shows or internet content?
• Have I committed impure actions alone or with others?
• Have I allowed others to practice impure actions with me?
• Have I doubted whether something I did goes against the virtue of purity?

Seventh and Tenth Commandments

• Did I steal something of value?
• Did I repeatedly steal things of little value?
• Did I unjustly retain found objects?
• Did I cause harm to my neighbor through mistake, fraud, or bad advice?
• Did I work poorly or neglect my duties?
• Did I damage someone else's property out of malice or negligence?
• Did I desire to steal or damage others' goods?
• Did I envy others' goods?
• Did I fail to pay my debts or bills?
• Did I fail to pay a fair wage to my employees?
• Did I retain goods that I unjustly possess?

Eighth Commandment

• Did I lie?
• Did I harm someone with my lies?
• Did I unnecessarily reveal someone else's faults and defects?
• Did I exaggerate someone else's true sins?
• Did I falsely attribute faults to someone, harming their reputation or wealth?
• Did I allow others to speak ill of someone?
• Did I listen to malicious conversations with pleasure?
• Did I sow discord among friends through gossip?
• Did I have unjust suspicions or rash judgments?
• Did I violate secrets entrusted to me or related to my profession?
• Did my indiscretion harm someone's reputation or wealth?

Seven Deadly Sins

• Being the source of many sins, they can easily overlap with sins against the Ten Commandments.
  Pride is against the first, greed against the seventh. Envy, gluttony, and anger are contrary to the fifth. Sloth is contrary to the first, third, fourth, and fifth commandments.
• Have I been proud and vain?
• Did I deliberately linger in thoughts of pride and self-complacency?
• Have I been stubborn and arrogant?
• Have I been harsh and uncharitable towards the poor?
• Have I felt envy?
• Have I taken pleasure in someone else's misfortune?

Ecclesiastical Fasting

• Have I fasted on the days of fasting prescribed by the Church?
• Have I observed the law of abstinence on the designated days?

Duties of State

• Have I failed in my duties as a spouse, parent, superior or subordinate?
• What faults have I committed in the exercise of my profession?

Sins Against God

• Have I tried to penetrate the mysteries of Faith with excessive curiosity?
• Have I entertained voluntary doubts against the Faith?
• Have I mocked holy things or made jokes about sacred themes?
• Have I used words from the Holy Scripture irreverently or for jokes?
• Have I spoken disrespectfully of God, the Saints, the Lord’s ministers, Church ceremonies, or other sacred things?
• Have I let myself be discouraged in the face of afflictions, trials, or difficulties?
• Have I harbored thoughts of sadness and despair due to a lack of trust in divine help?
• Have I neglected my spiritual growth, failing to seek God’s assistance?
• Have I relied only on my own strength to fulfill my duties without trusting in divine grace?
• Have I been careless in avoiding venial sins, presuming too much on divine mercy?
• Have I loved God with all my heart and above all things, or have I been excessively attached to some creature?
• Have I neglected making acts of faith, hope, and charity from time to time?
• Have I been negligent in preparing for Holy Communion and approached it with an undevout or distracted spirit?
• Have I omitted or shortened the thanksgiving after Communion, performing it with lukewarmness and distractions?
• Have I confessed without true repentance, just to feel reassured for not having grave sins?
• Have I hidden any sin or an important circumstance in Confession?
• Have I tried to minimize the gravity of my sins by presenting false justifications?
• Have I failed to fulfill the penance imposed by the confessor? What was the reason?
• Have I had voluntary distractions during Mass, especially on Sundays or feast days?
• Have I omitted obligatory prayers without a legitimate reason? And when I prayed, did I have voluntary distractions?
• Have I committed irreverences in the Church or other holy places, such as idle conversations, laughter, wandering glances, or improper postures?
• Have I failed to direct my main actions to the glory of God, acting without reflection or without a supernatural motive?
• Have I resisted recognizing God’s plans for me out of fear of being obliged to follow them?
• Have I done good works only for human respect, without the true intention of pleasing God?
• For the same reason (human respect), have I failed to fulfill any Christian duty?
• Have I criticized sermons and judged preachers based on personal preferences, valuing form over the truth they convey?

Sins Against Others

• Was I negligent in rejecting thoughts of suspicion or rash judgment?
• Did I share my suspicions or rash judgments with others?
• Did I have aversion or hatred for someone and made no effort to change it?
• Did I judge others easily and rashly, assuming their intentions were wrong?
• Did I harbor resentment against those who offended me?
• Did I desire revenge and consider carrying it out?
• Did I feel envy of my neighbor, desiring what they have?
• Did I feel jealous because someone was more loved or esteemed than I?
• Did I rejoice at someone’s misfortune or feel sadness at the good that happened to them?
• Did I belittle others’ virtues in my words or thoughts?
• Did I secretly desire harm for someone?
• Did I deny help to my neighbor when I could and should have helped?
• Did I refuse to ask forgiveness from someone I offended?
• Did I avoid reconciling with someone who asked me for forgiveness?
• Knowing that someone resented me, did I make no effort to resolve it?
• Did I fail to pray for those who have a right to my prayers?
• Did I speak ill of my neighbor out of envy, resentment, or frivolity?
• Did I slander or exaggerate the defects of others?
• Did I listen to murmurs and encourage them with questions or approval?
• Did I unjustly criticize someone’s conduct or complain publicly about them?
• Did I rebuke someone bitterly, unjustly, or with offensive words?
• Did I despise, mock, or ridicule someone in their presence or absence?
• Did I gossip and disturb the peace between people?
• Did I cause scandal and lead others into error?

Sins Against Oneself

• Did I have proud thoughts, considering myself superior to others?
• Did I show signs of a good opinion about myself in words or manners?
• Did I listen to praise with pleasure or revolt against deserved criticism and rebukes?
• Did I linger on thoughts of vanity, praising my qualities and successes?
• Did I speak with vanity about myself or my merits, true or supposed?
• Did I voluntarily dwell on impure thoughts?
• Did I read something impure deliberately and with malice?
• Did I pay attention to inappropriate conversations and commit faults against modesty?
• Did I cling to my own judgment, defending my opinion with arrogance and stubbornness?
• Was I ashamed to appear in public with my parents or humble people?
• Did I fail to repress impulses of anger or impatience?
• Did I complain excessively about my fate and take excessive care of my health?
• Did I commit acts of gluttony, drinking or eating excessively without necessity?
• Did I eat for sensuality things harmful to health or forbidden by the Church during fasting?
• Out of laziness, did I fail to get up at the right time?
• Out of convenience, did I fail to fulfill my state duties?

Sins Against God

• Do I pray every day?
• Do I put God first in my life?
• Do I respect the church and behave well in it?
• Do I go to Mass on Sundays, or do I complain about going?
• Do I use God's name disrespectfully?
• Do I sometimes lack belief, trust in God, or follow wrong things?

Sins Against Others

• Do I speak badly about others or gossip?
• Do I get angry and wish harm on someone?
• Do I cheat or deceive during games and play?
• Do I fail to help someone in need?
• Do I treat everyone with respect?

Sins Against Myself

• Have I denied myself learning more about God?
• Have I overeaten or been lazy?
• Am I neglectful of my body and health?
• Do I fail to do good because of bad friendships?

The Ten Commandments

• Have I failed to love God above all things?
• Have I used the name of God without respect?
• Have I failed to go to Mass on Sundays and holy days?
• Have I disobeyed and disrespected my parents and teachers?
• Have I failed to be kind and sought fights?
• Have I had impure thoughts and actions?

The Seven Deadly Sins
